Raw Maca Balls

Here comes a delicious recipe for an energy packed treat boasting irresistible flavors. Enter… Maca Balls! Are you looking for just the right midday snack to not only hold you over until dinner but to give you enough energy to finish the day out well? We were. We needed a healthy and simple go-to option and found the maca balls to be just the thing. We store them in the freezer for easy access and the taste and texture is quite awesome.

Maca root is an Andean superfood used to nourish and the health the body, increase stamina and endurance, and boost libido. We like to use Navitas Naturals Raw Maca Powder. Enjoy!

1/4 cup Navitas Naturals Gelatinized Maca Powder
¼ cup almond butter
1 cup pitted dates
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp chopped almonds
2 tbsp carob powder
Coconut flakes, unsweetened (optional)

Soak the dates for 10 minutes in water to soften. Drain liquid, and place in a food processor to blend into a sticky puree. Add the remaining ingredients, and process until a dough has formed – dough should stick together when rolled into a small ball. If dough is too sticky, add more chopped almonds; if too dry, add a touch of water, 1 tsp at a time.

Roll the dough into 1” balls or flatten like a cookie. Optional: roll dough in coconut flakes. Freeze or refrigerate to store. Enjoy!
