The Energizing Rainforest Latte

Our morning drink of choice as we set out to begin another beautiful day is an energizing, invigorating, sweet and earthy Rainforest latte. We combine yerba mate, green and rooibos teas with a little almond milk and let me just say, it’s quite delicious! We first tried a drink similar to our rainforest latte at a local coffee shop and knew right then we needed to make this at home. We concocted our own recipe and are very pleased with the result. I’m loving this flavorful combination of teas and I have to admit I also love the boost of energy it gives me to take care of our sweet baby boy and busy 3-year old girl. There is some caffeine in the yerba mate, however, it won’t make you jittery like coffee. Add more or less tea to suit your taste preference and try using some different combinations with the teas. I’m sure you will enjoy this drink as much, if not more, than we do.

Recipe:
2-3 tea bags of Guayaki yerba mate
2-3 tea bags of green tea
2-3 tea bags of black, chai, or rooibos tea
Almond milk, or other non-dairy milk
Agave syrup or honey

Directions:
Pour 3 cups very hot, not boiling, water over tea bags and steep 5-10 minutes. Remove tea bags. Follow directions below to make a latte or store tea in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Latte: Heat 1/2 cup almond milk and 1/2 cup tea together. Sweeten, sip and feel energized!
