We make this milk often, it’s simple and tastes amazing. We find it to be more than suitable for most of our “milk” needs as it’s great on oatmeal, muesli, smoothies, cereal and in baked goods as well. It’s also great to drink by the glassful! The ingredients are all raw and easy to keep on hand in the pantry. Try adding a tablespoon or two of carob powder or cocoa powder for a chocolatey treat. We hope you enjoy this healthy milk alternative as much as we do!
Recipe:
2 ½ cups water
½ cup hemp seeds
½ cup sunflower seeds
1 ½ tsp vanilla
3 large pitted dates (dried dates must be soaked overnight or in hot water for 15 minutes)
Optional: 1-2 tbsp of carob powder or cocoa powder
Directions:
Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend till it reaches a smooth consistency. We use a Vitamix, but I’m sure most blenders will do well. Store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
